A better Chicago? About time

In a time where our newspapers and online news sources are sprawled with articles concerning the CTA’s lack of funding, the Tribunes termination of numerous employees and the bid for the 2016 Olympics going badly, it is finally a relief to see a headline that gives hope to Chicagoans that there is a potentially better Windy City in the years to come.

The Tribune published an article in their Sunday magazine that I was immediately drawn to while I was at work. The article described the 100 anniversary of the Burnham Plan, an incomplete plan that outlined plans for Chicago and how to make it one of the best cities to live in.

With the way things appear to be going in Chicago–high taxes, high gas, high living costs and now our transit system is falling even farther behind the rest of the world– this plan should be completed and brought into action. I love Chicago, but I want a better way to live here.
